AVB is a translation in Bahasa Malaysia that took 15 years to complete. A translation that is accurate to the original text is considered a must to contribute towards building the Malaysian church.

MALAYSIAN SOUL
When the translation efforts were almost completed, the translators operating in Peninsular Malaysia realized that like-minded friends from Sabah & Sarawak were important to embrace and preserve this new translation.
God moves the hearts of leaders like Datuk Rev. Jerry Dusing from the Borneo Gospel Conference (SIB), who has long been pushing for a high-quality BM translation of the Bible. In God's perfect time, both parties, from the West and the East, met and started the establishment of the 'Literature and Bible Network' (LAB Network), with the mission of publishing the new BM Bible, and also producing other Biblical resources.
With similar initiatives, and the same spirit and mission from East Malaysia and West Malaysia, we present the Borneo Version of the Bible as a Bible with a Malaysian soul.
TRANSLATION PROCESS
The Lord provided a nucleus team consisting of a main translator and a professional translator who started work in 1998. Linguists and highly qualified educators in classical and modern Malay contributed their expertise in paying attention to the art of language and strengthening the clarity of the meaning of words, while the translators- other translators focus more on theological accuracy and fidelity to the original intent of the author of the book. The draft text of the Bible is then tested by native speakers. Further revisions were made by a team of consultants consisting of experts in Hebrew, Greek and theologians.
Furthermore, the latest Bible translation software is fully used to harmonize vocabulary, key biblical terms and passages of scriptures that are parallel or repeated in several places, in order to match the accuracy of the text-based translation in the original language.
Not to be left out are the main church leaders who provide supervision and spiritual support to the translation team throughout the duration of the project.
We certify the AVB as a high quality Bible, in smooth and charming language for the new generation to enjoy.
