Inspiration for Development
The inspiration behind developing this app comes from the personal experience of the developer as a hiker. There have been many occasions where I accidentally forgot to bring my bear bell when heading out for a hike. Especially when hiking alone, there were times when I instinctively felt that "this might be a dangerous area" and often regretted not having my bear bell with me. Since I always carry a map app on my smartphone, I always have it with me. This led me to think, "What if there was an app that could serve as a substitute for a bear bell?" This idea became the starting point for the app’s development.
App Features
Hiking and outdoor activities are supposed to be fun experiences. With that in mind, this app incorporates an animation of a bell swaying back and forth, creating a visual that is fun and making it appealing to use on a daily basis. The design is also friendly and pop, so it invites regular use.
Additionally, the app supports background playback, allowing the bear bell sound to continue even if your smartphone is in your pocket or bag. There is also an alert sound feature, which is triggered in the event of an encounter with a bear.
While this app was developed primarily for hiking and outdoor activities, it can be used in various situations where bear encounters are a concern, such as during commuting, school routes, or while farming in areas where bears are known to appear.
