For the past 25 years BTA coaches, starting with our director, Dan Barrie, have been leading the way when it comes to professional tennis coaching services in Bahrain. All BTA coaches are full-time, internationally-certified teaching professionals and come from strong playing and coaching backgrounds. But what really sets BTA coaches apart is their passion for teaching and their deep understanding of the needs of students at each stage of development. We are fortunate that coaches typically choose to be part of our team for several years which gives students a high level of continuity.
BTA was officially established in 2009 with a mission to raise the profile of tennis in Bahrain through quality coaching. The academy's primary base is at the Dilmun Club, Saar while also operating at other locations including the British School of Bahrain, Hamala, branches of Kinder World Pre-school and private venues.
BTA has the most extensive range of programs of any academy in Bahrain. Students in our junior programs are divided based on age as well as level and are matched with the appropriate court size, equipment and ball type to maximise their progress, in line with International Tennis Federation guidelines. We use specialised equipment to develop a love of sports in kids as young as 2 years old. These kids then have the opportunity to progress through the ranks all the way to international competition should they have the desire to do so.
For adults we offer a variety of both morning and evening private lesson times slots. For those preferring to learn in a group we have a range of levels of clinics to choose from to ensure that students can learn and progress alongside players of a similar level. We are also a licensed provider of Cardio Tennis, a fun tennis-based group fitness class.
Other offerings include internal tournaments, open tournaments, holiday camps and our exclusive Junior Champ Award program, a participation-based award designed to motivate kids to reach their potential.
