Permissions & Your Privacy
Zentra requests the following permissions to provide its features. You are always in control and can enable or disable these at any time:
AccessibilityService:
Used only to detect and block access to apps you choose during focus sessions.
Not used to collect personal data, record audio, or control your device in any deceptive way.
Overlay Permission:
Needed to display a blocking screen over apps you want to avoid.
Usage Stats:
Allows Zentra to track which apps you use and for how long, so you can see your screen time and usage patterns.
Notification Access:
Lets Zentra manage and silence notifications from blocked apps during focus sessions.
Internet:
Required for optional features like AI chat, cloud sync, and updates.
Other permissions:
Disable keyguard, set wallpaper, expand status bar, etc.: For launcher functionality and customization.
Location (optional): For potential location-based blocking features.
Foreground service, wake lock, boot completed: To ensure reliable operation and scheduled blocking.
Zentra does not collect, share, or sell your personal data. All core features work offline, and cloud sync is optional.
How Zentra Uses AccessibilityService
Zentra uses the AccessibilityService API solely to provide app blocking functionality. When enabled, this service allows Zentra to detect when you open selected distracting apps and block access during your scheduled focus sessions.
Zentra does not use AccessibilityService to change device settings, record audio, or collect sensitive information.
You can enable or disable this permission at any time.
Zentra is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities, but uses this API to help you manage distractions and improve focus.
